Therme Group has been awarded LEED® Platinum certification for its geothermal wellness project, Therme Bucharest, the most technologically advanced wellbeing resort in Europe. Located in the Romanian capital, it is the first facility of its kind globally to be awarded LEED Platinum certification, confirming it as the world’s first fully sustainable thermal spa resort. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC), is the foremost program for recognizing best-in-class building strategies and practices in green construction. This new high performance benchmark was achieved at Therme Bucharest by applying truly innovative technologies with low impact on the planet. From the advanced building energy management systems to the sustainable use of geothermal water, Therme Bucharest is a testament to the commitment of a dedicated team to change the way people interact and engage with each other and with nature, in a new kind of wellbeing facility, one which unifies people and planet.
