Therme Group Agrees Strategic Partnership with Wund Holding to Drive Global Expansion

Therme Group has entered into a far-reaching strategic partnership with Wund Holding (Wund Holding GmbH, Friedrichshafen), the leisure pioneer which has revolutionized the thermal resort sector in Germany.

The two partners have had a strong relationship for many years, through the close collaboration of the late Josef Wund, the visionary architect and founder of Wund Holding, and Dr. Robert Hanea, the CEO and Founder of Therme Group. During this period Wund Holding elevated the family-friendly wellbeing resort concept throughout Germany and Therme Group developed Europe’s largest leisure facility on a greenfield site – the world’s first fully sustainable thermal resort, with LEED Platinum certification.

The new strategic partnership leverages the world-leading technologies and experience of both organizations to build future growth. A first step has been to consolidate architectural and technical capabilities in the newly formed Therme ARC GmbH, Therme Group’s dedicated architecture company.

Therme Group currently has active projects in the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, North America and Asia Pacific. The new partnership will underpin these new developments, delivering the highest standards in customer experience and sustainability.

“This partnership is a natural step for both companies and will consolidate our future position as a global wellbeing leader. Josef Wund was the father of the modern thermal world and ongoing partnership will enable us to continue to create the world’s most advanced family-friendly wellbeing resorts for customers worldwide.“

Therme Group CEO Dr. Robert Hanea commented.

“Therme Group is the ideal partner for us. Its global footprint will open up many opportunities to make the best possible use of our unique capabilities in the design, planning, construction and operation of large-scale thermal resorts.”

Wund Holding Managing Director Edelfried Balle commented.

Following the announcement, Edelfried Balle will also take up the position of managing director of Therme ARC GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Therme Group.
