Following the announcement of Therme Group US' intention to bring a Therme facility to Washington DC and its broad public engagement with communities throughout the region, Omar Toro-Vaca, Chief Development Officer of Therme US, contributed to one of the sessions at the Urban Land Institute’s Spring Meeting 2023 in Toronto last week.

The Urban Land Institute is a non-profit research and education organisation and is the oldest and largest network of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use experts in the world. Its Spring Meeting brings together industry leaders from across the globe to discuss the future of urban real estate and city life.

During the session, Omar discussed the positive impact Therme Group could have as a critical element of urban social infrastructure and the vital role community partners share in making our projects a success for us and the people they serve.

"The reason value comes from within Therme is because, ultimately, what has been most successful in Bucharest is building the community. It is made of people of all different ages and from all walks of life. Whether you're a politician at the highest levels in Bucharest or an Uber driver, you visit Therme once, twice or three times a year. People come together with a sense of pride in the facility because they feel like it reflects their values."
